David Cassidy (1950–2017) was born in New York to Evelyn Ward and Jack Cassidy, both actors. His career took off when the television series The Partridge Family unit first aired in 1970, and Cassidy became a superstar histrion and singer/songwriter who bankrupt box office records worldwide. He had many hit records, earned an Emmy nomination for his television acting, starred in several Broadway and London W End shows, and headlined in Las Vegas for more than 2,000 performances, amongst many other accomplishments.
